At The Villages Charter Middle School (VCMS), we’re proud to offer nine interscholastic sports and we encourage all students to join one or more of our teams. Many studies have been done on the benefits of participating in youth sports which include an increase in social, emotional, physical, and academic engagement. It is our goal that student-athletes have a memorable and challenging experience while also learning valuable lifelong lessons.
Welcome to The Villages Charter Middle School Athletics page. We encourage all of our students to join one or more of our middle school sports. It is our goal that our student-athletes have both a memorable and challenging experience.
There have been many studies on the benefits of participating in middle school sports. These studies have shown an increase in social, emotional, physical, and academic engagement. Our coaching staff can offer your child all of these benefits while providing lifelong lessons.
Students who are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade can become a member of our athletic programs. All students will be required to meet academic and behavioral requirements in order to participate. Parents and students must complete an updated FHSAA athletic physical packet and provide a copy of their insurance card in order to try out or participate. These forms can be found under our middle school athletics page or can be picked up from our middle school front office.
Students will be notified at the beginning of the respective season on try-out dates and when all athletic forms are required to be turned in. This information can also be found on each team’s athletic page and through our morning announcements. Once your child has been selected on a team, a parent meeting will be scheduled by the head coach. Our head coaches will review expectations, practice, game schedules, and collect any fees that may apply.
We look forward to being a part of your child’s educational and athletic journey.
