ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Mrs. Pam Hicks « Teacher Connection / Documents / Calendar

Welcome to the wonderful world of Physical Education, commonly called PE.  We get physical in our daily activities, which include fitness and FUN!!!  Your child is involved in PE every day for 30 minutes and all I ask is that your child participates fully every day and gives their best effort.  Sometimes the things we do are difficult, but never impossible.  My goal is to set forth challenges that will help your child grow and learn more about becoming more physically active and physically fit.

During the month of August we will be in our Fuilding a Foundation Unit in which the rest of the year's units are built upon.  We will be learning the importance of following directions and cooperating with others as well as taking care of our equipment and facilities.  Shtaring and caring are also qualities that we will practice often.

Please consider "Go Noodle" as part of your family activity time.  It is an internet based program with numerous guided physical activities for you and your family to do together!  Try it, your child has experienced "Go Noodle" in their Physical Education classes and simply love it.  Here is the link that will take you to the sign up page.  It is a great VERY ACTIVE, VERY FUN, INDOOR ACTIVITY!!!https://app.gonoodle.com/sign-up?ref_id=GNlogin&source=GoNoodle%20Login%20Page

Just a little reminder that students are required to wear proper fitting sneakers (athletic shoes) every day to school, since they have PE every day.  It would be very helpful to have your child wear shoes that do not have laces if they do not know how to tie a good, tight bow.  In the mean time please, please, please have your child practice, with your guidance, the art of shoe tying.  It is something they will need to practice often in order for them to become proficient.  Should you choose to use it, there is a PDF file on shoe lace tying that can be used as a resource in teaching your child to tie a bow.

Thanks so much  for coming to my website.  I appreciate the time that I have been able to spend with your child!

MAKE TIME TO GET PHYSICAL AT HOME!!!
