Ms. Homan's Hungry Hansel & Gretels

Welcome to my class!  I hope everyone has had a safe and happy summer!    My name is Ms. Andi Homan.  I have been here at the Charter School for 5 years,  4 of them here in Kindergarten. I have been teaching young children and coaching swimming for over 15 years.  I am also the assistant coach for the highschool swim team.  My classroom is a fun and exciting place to learn as well as a kind and respectful room to grow. We work very hard everyday in here and I hope you continue to work on the skills we practice at home nightly.

I expect students to arrive at school ready to learn!  I do use a behavior clip chart numbered 1-8.  4 is ready to learn, and if your child is coming home on a 4 daily then they are doing all that is expected of them!!  More information on behavior will be discussed during parent night.

Also, just a few tips before the school year begins:  Students should be practicing shoe-tying and self-help skills regarding clothing (tucking in shirts, using belts, hand washing, using tissues, and the restroom)  in order to help make the transitions during the day smooth.

All Students should be able to:

Write their name using Upper and lowercase letters.

Use pencils, scissors, and glue appropriately.

Count to 20 and recognize the numbers to 20.

Rhyme

If your student has not mastered these skill yet please practice nightly to insure they will stay on track:)

 A few quick reminders:

Please remember to send a snack for your child everyday.  We do not provide snack in Kindergarten.

Read EVERY night!

Thank you so much for all you do to ensure your child is getting the most out of their education here at the Charter School!  I look forward to meeting and working with each of you this year!
