Hello Everyone!

My name is Mrs. Marietta Kotch and I will be teaching four sections of Principles of Entrepreneurship (Juniors) and two sections of Business Ownership (Seniors.) Although this is my 16th year teaching business subjects, this is my first year at The Villages High School. I am thrilled to be a teacher here and excited to begin this school year with you!

A little background information: I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education in 2003 and my Master’s Degree in 2006. I taught Business Education at a high school in Northeastern Pennsylvania and was an adjunct instructor at a university there as well. Tiring of the cold weather and snow, and seeing how happy our family members are here in The Villages, my husband and I made the decision to relocate to this area and we couldn’t be happier! People are friendly and welcoming and the area is so clean and beautiful.

As with this year and all prior years, I have very high expectations of my students. I promise to deliver engaging lessons and will provide extra help whenever needed. Success is possible with effort. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by e-mail at marietta.kotch@tvcs.org, or the school phone at 352.259.3777, extension 1101.

I wish you great success this year with my class and with all your other classes at TVHS. Go Buffalo!

 Professional Behavior

Just like in the real-world workplace, we are required to demonstrate a specific demeanor. As this course is a part of career education, students will be expected to practice their professional approach on a daily basis.

Be punctual: Student is in assigned seat, logged into his/her computer, and working on bell ringer before the bell rings.

Possess a good attitude: Student is behaving professionally. Example: raising hand to speak, does not interrupt the speaker, and uses manners and appropriate language/tone (no profanity.)

Be Respectful: Student demonstrates respect to the teacher, his/her peers, and classroom property (chairs, tables, computers, teacher's desk, etc.)  This includes no writing/gum/stickers on the chairs, desks, computers, walls, etc.

Exhibit Ethical Behavior: Student demonstrates honesty and trustworthiness at all times.

Practice Time Management: Student uses class time efficiently and effectively, stays on track with task assigned (without reminder.)

Follow Rules & Procedures: Student follows the classroom rules accordingly; signs-out/in/takes a pass to leave the classroom, keeps workspace tidy, logs out of computer, desk chair pushed in, student dressed in school uniform/identification lanyard, etc.
