Hurricane Helene Update

Good Afternoon,

Based upon the latest weather information provided by Sumter County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service, The Villages Charter School (VCS) will reopen tomorrow (Friday, September 27, 2024) as planned. All school-related activities will go forward as planned. This reopening includes both The Villages Early Childhood Center campuses and The Villages Charter School Autism Center. 

VCS will make up the missed day on Monday, October 14, 2024. An updated school calendar will be posted on the school website soon.

As mentioned in yesterday's announcement, we respect every parent’s right to make decisions during severe weather situations that are in the best interest of their individual situation. Please contact the building principal or the VCS Central Office with questions or concerns.

Buffalo HERD Parent Meeting Tuesday!

The next regular monthly Buffalo HERD parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 1st @ 6:00 pm @ The Villages Charter Elementary School 4th & 5th Grade Center Gym. We hope to see you then!

Buffalo Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament Is Full!

The Buffalo Scholarship Foundation's largest fundraiser--the annual golf tournament is moving to four new golf courses but will have all of the popular features from previous years. The event is now full but we are creating a waiting list in case any team withdraws. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to deserving VHS graduates for post-secondary education. Go Buffalo!

Buffalo Adventures Session II Available For Review

Buffalo Adventures Session II Activities are available to view online for both Buffalo Ridge and Middleton campuses.

Registration will open Sept. 30th at 9:00 AM through our activity app.  Jumbula  and close Oct. 18th at 6:00 PM. Please visit our website or contact Buffalo Adventures at 352-259-6818 for additional information.

 

VHS Fall Band Concert Coming Soon to The Tracy

The VHS Fall Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, October 8th @ 7:00 pm @ The Tracy. General admission is $10 and VCS students are free. 

VHS Fall "Buffalo Market" Coming Soon

We are hosting our next Buffalo Market in the VHS Courtyard on November 9th from 9 am-2 pm! We have experienced amazing community support at both of our events, and look forward to even more families and friends joining in the fun this show. We will have over 60 arts and crafts vendors that will include VHS students, VCS employees, local businesses, and more. We will also have the Buffalo Grill (featuring our Culinary Academy), a holiday photo booth, limited tours of the VHS campus, food trucks, lawn games, live student performances, and more!

VCS Earns 21st A Rating in a Row!

The Florida Department of Education has released the 2023-2024 school grades for all schools and The Villages Charter School has again earned an A rating!

Congrats to all students, teachers, administrators, staff, & parents for this achievement.

For the past 18 years, VCS has received a “K-12 grade” (all “A’s”)—also,

The Villages High School has now earned 18 straight A’s (2006 – 2024*)

The Villages Charter Middle School has now earned 21 straight A’s (2003 - 2024*)

The Villages Charter Elementary School has now earned 21 straight A’s (2003 - 2024*)

* The Florida Department of Education did not issue grades for the 2020 school year due to COVID-19.

VCS Earns School of Excellence Designation!

The Villages Charter School has again earned a School of Excellence designation for the 2022-2023 school year based upon academic data from the past three school years. The Florida State Board of Education announced the list of schools at their most recent Florida Board of Education meeting. See the announcement below.  

VHS Moves Graduation Date

The Villages High School has moved the graduation date for the Class of 2025 from the traditional Saturday morning outside to Friday, May 23rd @ 7:00 pm inside the Buffalo Sports Complex. See the updated 24-25 VCS Calendar below. Additional details to follow in the upcoming months.
